@jophotos Takeover Day 3 “Sunset.” Welcome to the third day of our #pvtakeover, we're so glad you could join us! This is one of our favorite sunset images. We captured this shot in Charleston, South Carolina moments before the sun dipped below the horizon. The golden sky, the hanging Spanish moss and the sun’s reflection on the river behind our model created an ethereal feel. When you can find moss or leaves that the sun shines through, it provides another layer of dimension, and film renders highlights beautifully!
@jophotos Takeover Day 3 “Eye Candy.” One of our favorite techniques is to shoot through a limb with leaves. Not only does it create dimension, but it also creates the feeling that you are peering in on a couple who is all alone. This style makes the photos feel candid and natural. If there isn't a limb perfectly placed for your shot, we'll pick up a fallen branch and place it in front of our lens. Time and time again, I (Kathleen) will pull down a branch for Joe to shoot through, or I will hold a small branch with leaves in front of his lens to create this look.
@jophotos Takeover Day 3 “Goodbye!” This is our final post for our #pvtakeover, and we'd like to thank you all for following along this week! We’ve shared some helpful tips on how to make the most of Mother Nature, and we hope you take them with you as you go on to explore and create! This shot was taken at a recent wedding in Nashville, Tennessee. It had stormed all day, and there was this gorgeous orange and pink sunset. We schedule sunset photos with all of our couples, a special time where they can step away from their reception for a few minutes and be alone. Most of the time, the bride and groom are so appreciative of having a quiet moment together in the middle of (what can be) a hectic reception. And for this couple, they couldn't have wished for a more gorgeous sky at the end of such a beautiful day. And to you, friends, we wish you all the same beautiful sunsets and peaceful evenings around the world! Thank you again, PhotoVision!
