@kilpat Takeover Day 1: I truly believe that for any artist there is always one project that scares you half to death. The reasons for fear can often times look different, but ultimately derive from the fear of failing. For me, this shoot was something I mentally prepped for since the moment we put it on the schedule. PhotoVision was my biggest cheerleader. I'll never forget talking on the phone to @brian.wood for 45 minutes about the process of shooting film, lighting and tips he so kindly shared with me. It was during this shoot that I realized PV is much more than a film lab. They are not only your family within the industry, but more importantly, at the end of the day, your sideline cheerleaders. They want each shoot to turn out as successful as you do, and simply knowing that gives you so much peace.

@kilpat Takeover Day 1: Details! I love details! There is so much creative freedom within these shots. And can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that details (sans wind) don't move?! I love to take my time with the major details from a wedding day, pulling subject matter from the day (like flowers and colors) to make one thematic composition. Details have so much power to tell a beautiful story.
@kilpat Takeover Day 1: Much of my inspiration comes from art, fashion and films. Wes Anderson’s films have always struck an inner cord. I love his use of color and unfailing use of symmetry.
@kilpat Takeover Day 1: Aside from the arts, another major inspiration to my work is light play and the environment. I love the fusion of these two natural elements. There is no bigger or better tool than light! I was born with a passion for all things equine, so I'm instantly drawn to any composition involving them! This picture was taken about 30 minutes before sunset. The light was soft and the evening was perfectly still.
