Hi! @lauragordon here and I'm so excited to be taking over PV’s Instagram! I'm honored to be a part of this, as PhotoVision has been a huge support throughout my career and I feel so thankful to work with them. For the next couple of days, I will be sharing some of my favorite images . . . I grew up in a family enthralled with antiques and design—my grandmother was an antique appraiser, and I went to school to become an Interior Designer. My background with antiques and design have led me to be deeply inspired by European architecture & history, specifically early Swedish and French design, with its muted palette and soft romantic details. Once I became a photographer, the first place I traveled internationally was France . . . it was a turning point in my career, opening so many doors.

For each and every couple I work with, it is so important that I create a beautiful narrative that is uniquely theirs. I want my work to be relevant 10 years from now and as simple as possible, I don’t want to do anything that will date my images. I work off of my clients’ energy to document pure emotion through traditional portraiture by peeling back the layers of a scene, as opposed to posing one. I long to craft thoughtful imagery that is classic and timeless with a nostalgic quality.
