"When I was first breaking into the wedding industry I was obsessed with following the 'formula.' I was soaking up and repeating anything that I saw had worked well for someone else. But as soon as I started to break the mold and use poses that I came up with or a composition that was a little out of the box, that's when I truly started to find my voice as a photographer. I started to ask myself 'Why am I shooting the way I do? Why am I using those poses? Why am I editing this way?' I surprised myself with my answers and let go of almost everything I had been doing at the time. That's actually when I decided to make the transition to film! It was what I was passionate about, even if it didn't perfectly fit in with what everyone else was doing. This wasn't an easy transition, so my advice is this - don't be afraid of your style changing! Don't be afraid to push yourself and dig deeper to discover the real "why" behind what you do. Growth is always a good thing! Even if it's not always the easiest path." Great advice from photographer @allywix! This stunning shoot is featured in the latest issue of Trendy Bride Magazine.
